Gear Up is a multiplayer game where you assemble your own vehicle from about a hundred different parts. Then put your vehicle in the heat of battle in game modes such as deathmatch, team deathmatch or conquest. Gear Up has passed through Steam Greenlight and Early Access and is now released on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Development
Gear Up was created using the Traktor engine, a team of four to five and a lot of hard work. Compared to our previous game (a singleplayer puzzler) this next game was much more advanced. Creating a multiplayer game with such a small team is of course a problem since it’s hard to test balancing and gameplay properly by ourselves – so Steam and its Early Access program was a perfect match for us.
What I did on Gear Up
For Gear Up I was responsible for creating the levels and request the assets that were needed to design the maps. During development I’ve also written many hundreds of bug tickets and feature requests regarding both the editor and the game itself.
I’ve also managed our open developer forums and the Steam discussions to answer questions, gather bug reports and absorb player feedback.
